The Lifesource Blood Pressure Monitor UA-853AC -Stand-Up – A Workhorse

Some of you, that follow my reviews, may have already figured out that blood pressure monitor reviews are one of my favorite products to report on. Being a long time member of the medical product review community, I know all too well, how dangerous not being proactive about your health can be. HCL (Health Care Laziness), as I like to call it, is all too common and it can literally rob you of years from your life.

For those in their ‘Golden Years’, or those fast approaching them, blood pressure monitors can be invaluable in helping them maintain good cardiovascular health. I don’t write these reviews, because I enjoy them; I write them because they provide information to people about important products. In fact, I honestly believe that no home should be without a blood pressure monitor.

I suppose I’ve rambled on long enough, it’s time to actually review the Lifesource UA-853AC Stand-Up Blood Pressure Monitor. I usually like to review the more portable types (because I travel a lot myself) of blood pressure monitor. But even the best portable monitors, cannot match full-sized home units like the UA-853AC, for accuracy and features. This monitor does everything and more that you can ask from a home pressure monitor.

Well built and well designed, the accuracy of the Lifesource UA-853AC is second to none. While not so cheap as some home monitors you will find; it is less expensive than some other less capable BP monitors. If you consider all of the features offered by this monitor, then it is definitely one of the better values available.

Most important of the units many features is the invaluable Irregular Heartbeat Detection technology, found in this Lifesource monitor. IHD warns users about possible arrhythmia issues. Irregular heartbeat conditions detected by the monitor can then be discussed with a physician and further diagnosed. I cannot begin to tell how very important this feature could prove for many people who suffer arrhythmia conditions. In only a few years, the IHD technology has already saved countless lives with early detection. Early detection leads to a better chance of correcting a defective condition.

The TimeWise system, used by the Lifesource UA-853AC, makes the monitor aware of both morning and evening BP readings, and is another very useful and informative feature. The Lifesource monitor can also tell you the averages for both morning and evening readings. This can help a physician determine medicine dosages. Many that suffer from hypertension or high blood pressure know that morning and evening medication doses can be different. When it’s time for your next doctor’s appointment, your doctor will be pleased with these reports.

The machine can also be programmed with 3 different alarm times; to remind you that you need to check your pressure (a very handy feature for the slightly absent minded like me). It also has a logging feature that stores your last ninety pressure check results. Your doctor will also really like the logging feature, because the log helps him to gauge the effectiveness of your medication. With its large LCD Display, reading your pressure check result is easy and understandable.

The Lifesource UA853AC is a solidly built machine designed for years use. Lifesource offers a very generous lifetime warranty on the unit as well.

Overall the UA-853AC Lifesource Monitor is a well made, first-rate, quality Blood Pressure Monitor that does everything we can expect a monitor to do. The size of the unit prohibits it from being classified as very convenient for travel purposes; although it could be packed in a larger overnight bag or such.

With reasonable care and use, this Lifesource Monitor will provide you with years of quality and accurate Blood Pressure Results. The UA-853AC monitor is a very good value for the money. This  monitor has everything you need and nothing you don’t. This workhorse just works, and works well.
