Day 16 on HCG…Check!

I’ve got less than 10 days left on the low calorie portion of the HCG diet. That makes Day 16 one of my favorites so far. Here’s a quick reminder of the program layout. It started off with 2 days of loading. Loading is eating a whole lot of food with a whole lot of fat content and therefore calories. While loading you start taking your HCG three times daily. It’s supposed to increase the ability of the body to absorb the HCG product. After loading you start a 500 calorie per day portion of the diet. I chose to do the program that had me dieting for 23 days, but there are different lengths you can choose from.

After the low calorie portion of the diet the maintenance diet kicks in. On the maintenance you apparently can eat as much as you want of anything you want up to 1500 calories per day and excluding a pretty short list of items. You can’t have sweeteners: sugar, dextrose, honey, molasses, artificial sweeteners, corn syrups, etc. You also can’t have any nitrites, fast food or Trans fat. And you can’t have any starch whatsoever. Man I’m going to miss homemade bread by the time this is all over. Or maybe I won’t even like it anymore…who knows?

That’s a pretty extensive exception, I know. But after the 500 calorie diet it sounds like heaven. I’m so used to limiting myself that the 1500 calorie per day maintenance diet is going to be a breeze; at least that’s what I’m hoping. And it helps that the restrictive diet is actually working; seeing your weight drop is fabulous incentive to keep going.

Alright so now that we’ve had that nice little recap from loading to low calorie to HCG maintenance diet we can move on. Today I weighed in at 156. I know! I did so good yesterday and no weight loss. I decided to add some green tea in (which I did…YUCK!) and try to drink a lot more water. I think I messed up with my water intake yesterday. I didn’t fill a pitcher first thing in the morning so I don’t really know how much I drank.

I’m fine taking the HCG drops three times per day. And I think the B-Total drops are really helpful. I’m thinking of getting online and ordering some more for when these run out.

Now for the eating recap. On day 16′s lunch I had a leftover green onion burger and another half of a grapefruit (this one was better than yesterday’s). It’s weird how some of them are just really sweet and yummy and others just aren’t. I had Melba Toasts with lunch, as well. I had the last of the grilled chicken at dinner (more leftovers) and I drank a ton of water. Here’s hoping I see weight loss again tomorrow!

HCG Weight Loss Program: Day 15

It’s the 14th day of my 25 day homeopathic HCG weight loss program. All of the diet consumer reviews suggested that once you got about halfway it was a bit easier. They said it would be more habitual to reach for fresh fruits and veggies. They said it would be more natural to cook using healthy cooking methods.

So that just goes to show that all the diet consumer reviews you read out there aren’t going to be 100% accurate because I disagree. It’s not exactly what I’d call easier. I think I feel comfortable saying that I’m more capable of sticking to the rules at this point because I’ve learned a few tricks and recipes, but there’s still that definite temptation to NOT do it.

My HCG and B-Total was taken as recommended throughout the day. Although I broke my normal routine and didn’t take my B-Total until late afternoon. Usually I take it first thing in the morning. It’s one of the additional products that I found mentioned in the diet consumer reviews. And this time I totally agree with the reviews. It’s a great addition to the HCG.

My green onion burger at lunch was perfect with half a grapefruit. The Melba Toasts I laid out for lunch ended up hanging around there for an hour or two until I ate them mid-afternoon. Structure, biochemistry and emotions are interdependent. Each affects the other. When one of the three branches of human health become stressed what happens?
